This is now my daily watch . It is the second model Seamaster 300m quartz i have owned . I sold the first and regretted it nearly straight away . So when a friend offered me a nearly new one for a good price , i jumped on it .
The first thing i did was take off the bling bracelet , and put on a plain waterproof black leather strap . This really shows the fantastic black dial on this watch . I have owned hundreds of watches , that cost much more than this simple watch . But none of them have been more comfortable to wear . I could have bought this watch with an automatic caliber , but for me quartz is better and easier to use as a daily beater . No winding - adjusting- low service costs are worth considering .
Looking at this watch from a divers point of view it is hopeless . The diving bezel is a design fuck up . Its hard enough to turn with your bare hand . It must be a nightmare with wet diving gloves . But the bezel looks absolutly great and is a beautiful design fault
Its an easy watch to read but not as good as the models with the sword hands . But again i think the see through hands makes the dial seem even more black and clean. Again a design fault that just looks good .
The funny thing is that i recieve more comments about how good this watch looks than many other more expensive watches i have worn .The case deserves a special mention , because i do not think there are many dive watches out there rated to 300m that have a thinner more wrist hugging design. 99% of dive watches have the usual boring round Rolex Sub copy bezel case ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz . Omega did something different here , and i like it .
So to sum it up . Its a bit of a design fuck up . But sometimes things that are completly impratical can be comfortable and beautiful . I will not make the mistake of selling this one again
