Du har ret i, at jeg har en forkærlighed for vintage og at jeg fascineres af historie og af kvalitetsværker. Et 321 Speedy er et fantastisk ur og vil også være en god kandidat, ligesom et Rolex Daytona med et El Primero værk også ville være det

Uden at jeg vil afvise det fuldstændigt, så er jeg dog lidt i tvivl om, hvorvidt et Speedy ikke vil være lige lovlig meget til "tool-siden" !

I would buy a IWC portuguese in gold with black dial.A absolutly strikingly beautiful watch in my opinion and i have seen them with the older calibers for around your budget.And even if it is a ETA based caliber it has got nothing to do with ETA when IWC have finished with it.Indeed you are getting a caliber with a better finish than new IWC calibers.And the price in the future will not be going down.Just my opinion and i must admit i am biased on this one Willy

I agree with you completely - both in terms of beauty and quality of the caliber. I have the Aquatimer 3536-1 and the caliber in this watch is based on an ETA but has been transformed into an entirely different level by IWC !!

Until now I am leaning towards a Portuguese (albeit maybe with a white dial) or a Day Date. But the purpose of this thread is to get some more inspiration so as to challenge my preferences

Ok i misunderstood sorry <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarrassed" /><!-- s:oops: --> There is a watch you must look at.It is for sale with Bachmann & Scher in Munich a Chopard LUC Twist in white gold mint condition 43mm the dial on this watch is so beautiful.I have been meaning to buy it for the last 8 months but have not got the money right now.They wanted 55.000dkr but have come down to 48000dkr and i think they could be pressed even longer down.You get one of the best inhouse calibers in the watch world in a fantastic case.It is a steal in my opnion and if i could i would buy it tommorow Willy

I will certainly check the Chopard out - however I am in the same pickle as you. The money that I will need to buy this watch will not be available for me, until I return home from deployment sometime in september this year. And with any luck you will have picked up that watch by then, I hope !

Whow !! I have just been onto the Bachmann & Scher webpage and seen the Chopard - that watch is absolutely stunning !! And I agree very much that 48 K seems like a steal !!
