Marketing is a big factor in the price of EU watches . And i think it has been taken to a level that gives you less quality for the money compaired to watches from Japan . A good example is a watch like the Seiko Sumo . This watch would i am sure cost 3x as much , if made by a Swiss brand .

But in all fairness the competition is harder in the EU for new watch brands . Seiko and Citizen are huge brands with production capacity that leaves all Swiss brands in the shade . The Japanese are just so much better at making good watches for a good price . And that just about sums it up for me .
