brands in danger of losing their identity

i have always liked iwc,and respected their sober way of designing and making watches.now it seems they are going the same way as breitling,omega,etc.etc.instead of making watches that are pratical in use,they are catering for the coffe shop diver.look at the new aquatimer,and imagine what it will look like after a year in the hands of a real diver.highly polished cases,croc straps etc.etc.i mean be honest.this watch as gone from a watch a diver might use as a back up on a dive to a bling bling diver.many brands are following this trend unfortunately.they could all learn something from rolex who have been making watches that still look good,even after many years hard use.i think many brands would be doing themselvs a favour if they fired their design departments.i would like to add that all the above brands make good and shit watches excluding breitling of course.everything they make today is willy
