willy i agree blancpain were nothing at that time[/b]and even if they make fantastic watches today,it as been very difficult for them to reach the top.that was bivers ambition with blancpain, now he is trying with hublot.longines were a very well respected brand in the sixtys, they had many film stars who wore their watches.they were well made, and some models today are getting really high prices in auctions.but they suffered badly in the quartz revolution,as did many other brands.longines were on a level with rolex and omega at that time.bogart and hepburn wore longines.willy[/quote]quote willy.yes it was indeed and it was used by german and usa military frogmen.until iwc took over.it was a good seller for blancpain at the time.but they never broke into the top, where brands like pp-ap-vc were.and that was the ambition of blancpain.some of their watches are fantastic, and in my opinion they deserve to be near the top.they are a brand that watch nords know, but never a big seller at that time.
