Brand of the week Breitling - willy - 23-07-2012
Breitling founded in 1884 . This brand really seems to divide watch lovers in two.You love them or hate them.They have a good history especially in the world of aviation where they have achieved many firsts and have won respect for their watches.In recent years they have lost much of that respect because they just seemed to be intrested in making fashion watches with shiny cases and standard ETA calibers.They have been grossly overpriced and this shows in the market for used watches.But they seem to have changed course and are going back to their roots again.They have developed a new inhouse caliber that is up there with the best the swiss watch industry can offer.Their designs are becoming less bling and more practicable. They are in my opinion looking at a good future they have a well known brand name and if they continue to develop new calibers that are true inhouse they might win back the respect they were in danger of loosing.And last i would like to point out that not everthing made by them in recent years has been bling . I for one would like Breitling to do what they did in the past develop new ideas and once again be one of the worlds leading brands . Willy

Jeg har stor respekt for Breitling.
De har lavet fantastisk flotte Chronografer i rigtig mange år.

Når jeg kigger i bogen: "Wristwatches" af Gilbert L. Brunner og Christian Pfeiffer-Belli og slår op på Breitling vises 31 flotte ure af dem er 27 chronografer
Fantastisk modigt design på mange ure. Der vil naturligvis være ure man ikke kan lide og ure man kan lide, men Breitling tør køre Deres egen stil.
Det er ikke nogen hemmelighed at jeg helt fra begyndelsen af min urpassion har været vild med Navitimeren. Det Unikke design som ikke ligner noget som helst andet er brændt ind på nethinden og det var en stor dag da jeg anskaffede en selv - og jeg nød at gå med den på samme måde som jeg har nydt min Speedmaster pre moon og min Seamaster med cal 321.
Det er ikke kun det at det er et flot ur. Det er historiens vingesus og det er en viden om at disse ure er "noget helt særligt". Fine værk som blev udviklet og bygget af "mesterurmagere". Blev fremstillet som det ypperste mekanik og som supporterer urene i mange, mange år.
Breitling har haft gode og mindre gode perioder som så mange andre af de store urproducenter været nede og vende en tur.
De er kommet stærkt igen og har et trofasdt puplikum for mænd, som ikke går af vejen for et ur "der ser ud af noget". Det gør Breitling og det er deres DNA, Deres varemærke. Chronografer af høj kvalitet og Dykkere der "syner".
Jeg er vild med Breitling Vintage Chronografer og kunne sikkert sagtens have samlet på dem..... Chronografer er bare så pokkers dyre at servicere <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
