U.L. have been making watches since 1846.They were in the begining well known for their marine chronometers.From about 1983 when Rolf schnyder took them over,they have made complications ,that put many of the so called top brands in the shade.I can name three of the most complicated watches ever built.The Astrolabium Galileo,Planetarium,Tellurium johannes kepler.The instructions book for these watches is the size of a paperback novel.They were made with the help of Dr.Ludwig Oechslin,master watchmaker and scientist.I will not even try to explain what these watches can do,it would take me a week.UL.are also in the front regarding new technological advancement,silicon,dual direct escapement,etc.They have so many world first patents,that i have not read or heard of any brand except maybe JLC,that even come close.Their watch called the Freak is a orgy of new thinking in the industry.They make also everyday watches,with reworked ETA calibers.And you can believe,they are reworked to a high standard,like IWC .Not just polished,stamped with brand name,and sold as our own caliber,as example omega,hublot,brietling etc,etc.UN watch cases are also top quality.Look at one under a glass,and you will see detail on the dial that leaves other brands in the same price class for dead.I think that UN are a great brand,and in my humble opinion they belong at the very top sphere of swiss watchmaking. Mindes en spændende artikel omkring en torubillon de lavede... den var lidt i stil med BLU's kreationer. Sådan calabrese agtig...
Kan dog ikke finde linket!
Men rigtig lækre ure noget af dem. Og så lavede de også en masse lækre marine kronometre en gang!
