Tag Heuer Aquagraph - Tukjær - 21-05-2009

yamahaki Skrev:tag heuer aquagraph. You've looked at mine for over a year now. Its one watch that stays. I think I've flipped over 200 watches since 2006, but not this one. 1st up, the specs.
CN211A.BA0353
Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds; chronograph
with central seconds and minutes, as
well as a small 12-hour counter; 24-hour
display; specially secured divers' bezel rotates in
only one direction.
Movement: TAG Heuer Caliber 60 (Dubois
Depraz 2073 module atop an ETA 2892), selfwinding,
28,800 vibrations per hour, 46 jewels,
Etachron fine adjustment, stop-seconds function,
diameter = 30 mm, height = 7.4 mm, 42-
hour power reserve.
Case: Steel, sapphire crystal is antireflective or
one surface, threaded screw-in back, newly
developed rubber-coated push-pieces with
screwed steel plates, automatic helium valve,
water-resistant to 500 meters.
Wristband and clasp: Rubber strap and steel
pronged buckle, orbrushed-steel bracelet with
specially secured folding clasp.

I had to do some research into this movement. the lemania 5100 movement would have been perfect for this watch, but since its no longer made, this eta was used. the lemania 5100 also has a central seconds and minutes totalizer.
a number of reviews had this watch stated with 3 different movements. only one of those was the correct movement, so a photo was needed of the movment to prove what it really is. the specs are above. borrowed movement shot.

dimensions from my own measurements using a browning dial caliper.
lug to lug=45mm
lughorn width-22mm
tapering bracelet from 22mm to 20mm
width, 42.5mm
with crown from 9 to 3 is 46.5mm
I've worn this watch at least one day a week since owning it. its a very comfortable watch. I'll rate this at the end. the dial layout is very good. with a second and minute totalizer on the central stem, its very legible. the lume on this one isn't luminova or maraglo. no idea what the lume is made of, but this one does lume throughout the night. 1st up is the bracelet. this one is totally unique to this watch. I wondered why there were dots on the outside links on the bottom side. well, after measuring the center links and the outside links it finally made sense. the center lengths are 4mm thick. the outer links are 3mm thick. the endlinks are 8mm. very well thought out and comfortable.

I covered the deployant in a earlier post so heres the pics.

the bracelet is held together with pins and barrels. while those are a pita to adjust, they are more supple that the screwed link bracelets. adding a 3rd half link solved the fitment issue. this also has a articulated rubber dive strap with a extension to fit over any dive suit. A interesting feature of this watch is the bezel. its a push down type. pretty neat how it really works. its acually made up of 7 pieces. the main bezel structure, then 6 independant pushers that allow the bezel to rotate.

the crown and pushers. the best out there. others are as good, but haven't owned any that are better. the crown uses a yellow gasket. if visible from the top side, its not screwed down. even when unscrewed, it has a 100m wr rating. 500m when screwed in. the chrono pushers are very easy to push. most chronos take alot of effort to activate them. not this one.
İmage'
it was said that the crown was 2mm lower than the caseback. actually its the reverse.

this is a very well thought out watch, from the movement to the bracelet. I set this 2 days ago for the timing competition. I checked its rate today while taking pics. its still +/- 0.
1) bezel. a 10. perfect in its operation. can be used with gloves.
2) crown and pushers. 10. no slop anywhere. very easy the unscrew and screw back down.
3) movement. deadly accurate from day one. winds as easy as my omega planet ocean. 10
4)bracelet. because it required another half link to size, a 9.
5) fit and finish.10. doesn't get any better.
5) overall impressions. 10
6) lume.10 nuff said
in conclusion. no weak points to this watch. its been a joy to own, wears very well whether in a suit or for its intended purpose, diving.

Gode kandidater for overvejelser begge to.

Tak for svaret.
